# Overview

Flare’s **Global Search** gives you direct access to our powerful intelligence datasets, helping you explore, investigate, and uncover insights** for events not related to your configured identifiers.**

To ensure the best possible performance for all users and to make usage more transparent, we have introduced a **quota-based model**.

This model helps maintain fair access across accounts, ensures system reliability, and provides clear visibility into your organization’s search activity.

The quota based-model represent both** UI & API Searches.**

## ⚙️ How the Global Search Quota Works

Your **Global Search Quota** defines the total number of searches your organization can perform each month — whether through the **Global Search feature in Flare** or via** the API.**

You can easily track your usage directly in the Flare Platform, either when opening Global Search or by visiting your Tenant Page and checking the Global Search Usage section.

- **1 Search = 1 Quota Unit. **Every **UI search** or **API search** in Global Search consumes one search from your assigned quota.
- One search retrieves up to **100 events or credentials. **Retrieving **more than 100 results. **Requesting more than 100 results (e.g., clicking “Fetch More”) counts as **an additional search**.
- **10-Minute Grace Window: **Repeating the same search or adjusting filters **within 10 minutes** of the original query does **not** consume another search.This safeguard helps ensure smooth workflows without unnecessary usage.

The Global Search Quota is designed to:

- **Provide transparency** into how searches are used in both API & Flare Platform
- **Support continued scalability** of Flare’s intelligence platform

## FAQ

### Q: How identical search and filters work? 

Executing an exactly identical search and adding filters **within 10 minutes of the original search** does not count towards the quota.

### Q: What happens if I exceed my quota?

You’ll receive an in-platform notification when you’re approaching your quota limit. From there, your Customer Success Manager (CSM) will discuss with you for upgrade options.
