Project Spotlight: Simplifying Data Source Monitoring

Monitoring cybercrime channels like Telegram is essential for staying ahead of emerging threats, but being able to do so quickly can be challenging when there’s too much to monitor.

This project will focus on providing users the ability to easily view Flare’s ever evolving source coverage (including Telegram) but also offer new and unique ways to monitor and report on them– without the manual uplift.

Key Objectives

  1. Data Collection Requests: We’re adding an easy way for users to submit requests for sources we don’t already monitor. You’ll be able to track your request and be notified if and when the source you requested becomes available.
  2. Source Summaries: Users will soon be able to request detailed summaries that highlight topics of interest, and surface details that you might otherwise not notice.

Why It Matters

  • Faster Insights & Simplified Workflows: Currently, wading through the thousands of events that derive from our sources makes it difficult to find what’s relevant quickly. This project will reduce the effort needed to request, track, and analyze external sources.

Project Spotlight: Enhancements to Creating Custom Intel

We’re making improvements to the Create Custom Intel feature within Threat Flow to provide you with additional flexibility to generate more meaningful Intel. Currently, results may vary or be less detailed than intended due to limited options. With these improvements, you’ll have more flexibility and tools to craft Intel with a more tailored experience

Key Objectives

  1. Question Based Intel: Rather than relying solely on keywords, users can instead ask a question in combination with keywords that must be included (or excluded) in the Dark Web data that Flare searches for to answer your question. This flexibility enables more relevant results.
  2. Navigate with Confidence: Our new Intel wizard will help guide you through the process of creating Custom Intel, including toggling between the new Question-Based option and our new Source-Based option. You’ll also be able to preview the results before finalizing your Intel, ensuring that the output better aligns with what you’re trying to uncover.
  3. See the Bigger Picture: The look and feel of our Intel will feature much more detailed and actionable content, moving beyond simple generic summaries.

Why It Matters

  • More Control, Less Guesswork: With these updates, creating Custom Intel will feel more intuitive and give you the flexibility to focus on exactly what matters most to you.
  • Clearer, Actionable Insights: The enhanced Intel format isn’t just about looking better—it’s designed to give you deeper insights.

Looking Ahead into Q2

As we continue to innovate and address our customers' most pressing needs, here are some of the slightly longer-term projects we’re prioritizing in the coming quarter. These initiatives are designed to improve workflows, expand data coverage, and deliver a more seamless experience with Flare.

🎓 Flare Training Platform We’re developing a dedicated training platform to provide hands-on experiences during workshops and demos. This initiative will enhance customer onboarding, boost engagement, and showcase Flare’s capabilities in a controlled, interactive environment.

🔐 Microsoft EntraID Integration: Verify and Remediate Leaked Credentials Integrating Microsoft EntraID will allow users to validate and remediate leaked credentials directly within the platform. This capability will improve threat evaluation, enhance risk mitigation, and simplify credential management workflows.

📊 Improved Leaks Materialization Enhancements to the Creds Browser and leaks workflows will provide better filtering, search capabilities, and dashboards. These updates will improve the user experience and lay the groundwork for leaks-specific metrics and reporting.

🔔 Inform and Alert Customers on Look-Alike Domain Changes We’re enabling notifications for changes in look-alike domain listings that increase risk. This improvement will keep users informed and enhance workflows for tracking and managing look-alike domains.

💬 Add Telegram Conversations to Threat Flow Expanding Threat Flow to include Telegram conversations will deliver broader data coverage, enabling users to create richer and more comprehensive custom intelligence reports.

🔗 Knowledge Graph We’re exploring a proof of concept for a knowledge graph to map relationships between threats, actors, and vulnerabilities. This foundational project will unlock dynamic use cases and provide deeper, context-rich intelligence.

📄 Streamlining Reports: Quick Wins & UX Optimization We’re addressing user feedback to enhance report functionality with UX optimizations and polished, professional output. These targeted improvements will make reporting more intuitive and impactful.

Your Feedback Matters

We’re excited about what’s ahead and look forward to your input as we shape these initiatives. Your insights and feedback are essential in helping us refine these projects to meet your needs and expectations. Stay tuned for updates and opportunities to participate in the development process!
